Retirement 2021

Announcing  my transition plan to retirement in July 2021

Dear family  Practice Group Patients ,

I have loved caring for you and working with my colleagues and staff over the past five decades and have much gratitude and joy to express and cherish as I also share the sadness of leaving my role as your family  doctor  .

So as I announce my intention to retire over the next several months I also hope to make this transition as easy and seamless as possible for all of you so that my colleagues can assume your care or help you make choices out of the practice if desired.

We have planned this virtual town hall to make this announcement and get your reactions and suggestions to help us achieve this change in the best way.

This is the beginning of the transition and as we go through these next few months we will share the necessary details.

We are considering many ways to implement  this  change  together and this brief formal announcement is only the first step.

Thank you for trusting  me  and  giving  me  so  much  joy as you helped me care for you and also for helping us train the next generation of caregivers .

I look forward to ensuring the best care for all of you as I navigate this important

next step to my retirement.

I wish you all well and want you to know how much I will always value  our relationship.

Welcome to retirement! I can’t believe I beat you to the finish line, but I can say from personal experience, that you won’t likely be bored…

Dr. Sagov, I wanted to say thank you again for your wonderful care to me for nearly 20 years! When I first visited, you listened to my history and my thoughts on best treatment rather than simply being prescriptive. You then followed through with an approach that has provided me relief without medication for all of these years. Along the way, you treated me with kindness and care and always gave me the time I needed during each visit. You also made it interesting, with CDs of your jazz recordings lying around, discussions of topics beyond medicine, and glimpses of joy and fulfillment in your life pursuits. Thank you for being a wonderful doctor to me. I wish you all the best in your new pursuits and adventures!

Dear Dr. Sagov- As Jung wrote, “Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients.” Thank you for being my favorite doctor. I always left my appointments with you feeling better, reassured, and with fabulous book recommendations. I’m going to miss you so much and am glad I get to come in one last time to see you before you retire.

Fifteen years ago my mental health therapist recommended your practice to me because you were very interested in patient empowerment. I never had the pleasure of seeing you personally but I have loved the caregivers I did see. Thank you for creating a safe place for patients to feel heard. That’s a lasting legacy, in my opinion. Well done.

Who will be listed as the primary physician going forward?

thanks you for sharing your good experience.
We have hired 3 new Family Doctors who are available to serve after I leave and details are available at our FPG website and by communicating with our front desk scheduling staff.

Stanley- I want to thank you for taking care of me and my family since 1980 ! You listened to my concerns with empathy and humor and I always felt I was sharing healthcare decisions with you- not being told what to do. I loved my year working for you in prenatal care and as a medical assistant , and when I went back to just being a patient we had an even better working relationship And of course as a fellow musician, I love your music, and have attended many of your performances.
I wish you the best in the next phase . I know your energy and creativity will take you on new challenges and adventures. I hope you will let us know what they are!
